Karel-de-Grote Hogeschool
I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science, with a focus on Application Development.
Roots Software
After a successful internship at Roots Software, I was offered a position as a Java consultant. I worked on various projects for clients in different industries, gaining experience in Java development and enterprise software.
Johnson & Johnson
My first big project. Worked five years on the contract application used by legal departments globally. I learned a lot about large-scale Java applications and enterprise software development in general.
Ordina Belgium nv
After spending five years at Roots, I moved on to Ordina. I took on various projects as a senior consultant. I also led the Cloud & Automation competence center, organizing training sessions and mentoring junior developers.
Rabobank
Here I found myself in the banking world for the first time, among the Dutch! I got to tackle core features for 7 million users, including the critical services that handle transactions (e.g. that thing that makes money go out of your account). Standards were extremely high and I learned a lot about security, reliability, and performance.
TVH Equipment / mateco
At TVH / mateco I was part of a digital transformation journey that spanned multiple years, which got me into EDA and Kafka early on. I was fortunate to lead a team of talented developers. We built an event-driven platform on top of Kafka that supported various digital initiatives, including e-commerce platforms and rental management systems. I am proud of the work we did there.
Aaqua
After 13 years of consultancy, I made the jump to a social media startup. I learned a lot about developer experience and how standardization can help teams move faster and deploy to production multiple times a day.
Kannika
At the moment, I am the technical lead and product owner for Kannika, a Kubernetes-native platform for backing up and restoring Kafka clusters. Being part of a small team means I get to wear many hats, from coding to customer support and everything in between.
